Valentine's Day Ombré Sugar Cookies

Valentine's Day is just around the corner and we spent our Saturday afternoon getting into the spirt by baking up our favorite sugar cookies.  We used our go-to, favorite recipe for the cookie dough and frosting, and added a splash of Valentine's cheer by drizzling the heart-shaped cookies in shades of red, creating an easy ombré effect when displayed on a platter. vdaycookies

We also purchased this heart side-of-cup cookie cutter from World Market, because who doesn't love a freshly baked cookie with a cup of warm coffee or hot chocolate?
